WATKC SPECIAL HISTORIC DOGS

Intro to WATKC

Back in early 1943 the West Allis Training Kennel Club was founded by 14 dog lovers. Some liked Retrievers, some Spaniels, and some Pointers. After more than 50 years it remains the only field dog club in the state of Wisconsin with 3 divisions of dogs (retrievers, spaniels, and pointers). The Club motto remains "Conserve Game, Hunt with a Trained Dog". The Club has over a hundred acres and several ponds and channels of pristine training grounds to train our field dogs. We hold an AKC Retriever Hunt Test, AKC Spaniel Hunt Test, AKC Retriever Qualifying / Derby Field Trial, AKC Spaniel Field Trial and a Hunters Jamboree annually. WATKC is located in the town of Vernon in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. We have a maximum of one hundred regular members. We are open to the public for all of our events including our annual Hunters Jamboree, held the first Saturday after Labor Day.
