CH Hillcrest Namtn Kocr Colours VCD3 UD TDX RA AX AXJ OAP OJP MH

3/12/94 - 12/26/09

Owner, co-breeder - Henriette Schmidt

Colours was the first showbred English springer spaniel to earn an MH - and the
first show champion MH.  It wouldn't have happened without my opportunity to
learn to train him at WATKC or without the help of other club members.  As you
see by his other titles, he liked other games, too.  In 1999 he was the 3rd ESS
to earn the parent club's Versatile Springer award.  (This photo is by Joanne
Peck.)

Xena Warrior of Salem SH

Xena received her AKC senior hunter title and placed in several AKC sanctioned Puppy, Derby, AT&H and Qualifying events winning several, as well as qualified at UKC finished and seasoned fun hunts. But other then nearly losing her life when my boat capsized on a November day duck hunting trip on the Mississippi river, the thing I'll always remember about her is her blinding speed. She owned the fastest retrieve at the WATKC jamboree until she turned nine years old. She is retired but still loves to run. Xena is owned, trained and handled by member Rick Spoerl.

MARK’S IGGY BOO
“MUGSY”

Owned by Member Marc Cieslik

Mugsy was born January 21, 2000.

He received his Senior hunting tile August 31, 2002. After completing six events with qualifying scores.

Now he went up to Master Hunter and after completing five qualifying scores he received the title August 23, 2003.

In January of 2004 he received an award from the FRIENDS OF THE FOUNDATION for high point spaniel in the Master Hunter category.

On July 28, 2007 he received the title of MASTER HUNTING DOG EXCELLENT after receiving qualifying scores in three events.

Briefly; Senior hunter: must find, flush and retrieve two pheasants on land, and make a blind retrieve on land. At the water he must be steady at the line and make one sight water retrieve.

Master hunter: must find flush be steady to wing and shot and retrieve two birds to hand, make a blind land retrieve, can be handle to a minimum and retrieve to hand. At the water he must be steady, make a blind water retrieve. And have two birds shot over water as a double.

Master Hunting Dog Excellent: Now the dogs hunt in braces. He must find, flush, be steady to wing and shot, deliver to hand. Also he must honor the brace mate’s retrieve. Even if the brace mates bird fall in his course. Also on land a blind retrieve is set up that he must go through obstacles to find the downed bird. At the water he has a blind retrieve that he must be handled to. Such over obstructions or left or right off of a direct line. The blind bird may also be placed some distance on land beyond the shore line. Now at last he has a double sight water retrieve.
I am told that Mugsy is only the second dog in the U.S.A. to gain this title. His last event he scored a 9.75 out of a possible 10
